The best small town in the world deserves a killer brand, and we were lucky enough to work with the fantastic Wanaka Tourism Team to create a new identity for this iconic adventure destination. To develop the new brand we set up camp in the town for 3 weeks and immersed ourselves in the local scene. We jumped out of planes, mountain biked, hiked, ate, met the locals, met the tourists, ate some more, paddled, climbed and ran a series of creative workshops with the marketing team. We then filmed the whole experience and used this content to help frame the brand and develop the new identity and positioning –  Wanaka – New Zealand at it’s Peak.  

In addition to the main logo, we also developed this simple roundel with a big orange ‘W’.  The full stop with NZ is intended to punctuate the brand and proudly put a stamp on this towns place in the magnificent land of NZ. Proud, bold, individual and adventurous, Wanaka is a place with stunning landscapes and enterprising locals and to do justice to this we tried to create someting simple, bold and distinctive and let the town do the rest.
